For Immediate Release:
Black Sheep To Host
Glass Artist
Glass artist Rose Hawley will debut her whimsical
skateboarders during Historic SouthEnd's Gallery Crawl on
Friday, January 5th, from 6-9pm at Black Sheep Skate Shop,
located at 1504 Camden Road in SouthEnd's Gallery District.
"It's great to be exhibiting back in Charlotte,"
says Rose, "and it's exciting to once again be capturing
action!" Rose commercially photographed rock and rollers,
dance performances, auto races, and other sports for many
years before venturing into clay, and then glass. Rose's
skateboarding sun catchers will remain on display in the
arched windows of Black Sheep Skate Shop during the month of
Jannuary, 2007.
Black Sheep owners, Josh and Deiter are fans and
supporters of visual art, who have hosted many artists over
the last four years. This will be the first time Black Sheep
has hosted glass art. Skating and glass are an unusual
combination, and the two words are rarely used in the same
sentence.
Black Sheep is an independent shop, featuring skate,
shoes, and mens and womens apparel. Guys clothing from Matix,
Kr3W, Volcom, Zoo York, Jedidiah, Manifest Worldwide and
more. Girls clothing from Volcom, Matix, Split, Ezekiel,
Elwood, OK47, Jedidiah, and more. Shoes from NIKE SB, Adidas
Skateboarding, Supra, Lakai, DVS, Fallen, Emerica, and ES.
